Preparation

  1. Umami Gravy

    • Heat a sauté pan over low to medium heat.
    • Add butter to the pan.
    • Sweat the garlic.
    • Add the crushed peppercorn to the pan. Add the Knorr Professional Oyster Sauce to the pan.
    • Pour in the diluted Knorr Professional Demi Glace Brown Sauce Mix.
    • Simmer the sauce. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
    • If desired, add cream to the pan.
    • Turn off the heat and mount the sauce with butter.
  2. Dates Gravy

    • Heat butter in a pan over low to medium heat.
    • Sweat onions and garlic.
    • Add dates, Arabic 7 spice, salt, and pepper.
    • Pour in diluted Knorr Professional Demi Glace Brown Sauce Mix; simmer.
    • Add the whole grain mustard.
    • Puree the sauce, then return to pan and continue simmering.
    • Turn off heat and finish with butter.
  3. Masala Gravy

    • Heat sauté pan over medium heat; sweat onions, garlic, and chilies in ghee until fragrant.
    • Add spices and cook until fragrant.
    • Stir in Knorr Professional Tomato Pronto.
    • Pour in diluted Knorr Professional Demi Glace Brown Sauce Mix; bring to a boil, then simmer.
    • Turn off heat; finish with a pat of ghee.
    • Blend sauce if a smoother texture is desired.
